Building an Evacuation Station and Integrating a Nuclear Power Plant into a National Network
Transco, the local network manager, has turned to EDF Transmission Network Engineering for the construction of its new nuclear power plant, Barakah.
We're supervising two sub-projects for the Barakah power plant, which is currently under construction 250 km from Abu Dhabi:
- the integration of the plant into the national load dispatcher;
- the construction of a 400 kV evacuation station for Unit 2 of the plant.

Building Underground Electrical Networks in Difficult Climatic Conditions
In order to meet this challenge, EDF Transmission Network Engineering supervised the installation of two 400 kV underground connections between Mamzar and Dubai. The 4 km and 11.5 km tunnels house combined natural and forced ventilation systems designed to protect the electrical networks from the ambient heat.
